The trip is about 20 hours so if, hypothetically, we were to leave at 9:00pm on Monday, January 4th, the train would arrive in NY at 6:00pm on Tuesday the 5th. And, hypothetically, if we spent the next two and a half days in the city and then left (again from Penn Station) at 3:45pm on Friday the 8th, we'd be back home the next morning at around 9:45am. Also, hypothetically, we could check bags and there would be a dining car and a lounge.
